THE NECROTIC was shot in New Jersey the summer of 1976 with, would you believe, a super-8 movie camera and $3,000 budget. The actors (Regina Kelly, Rodney Williams from TV Soaps "One Life To Live," Jodi Druss from "Annie" roadshow and Lori Smith, were unpaid. The doctor's office and morgue scenes were filmed at a Chiropractic center in Lyndhurst and the Chirpractor, Dr. Steven Sawruk, played the pathologist doing the autopsy."The Necrotic" was loosely based on the true case history of "Dr. X," a Bergen NJ general practitioner (played by Williams) who, after discovering his wife's infidelity, injected his female patients with lethal doses of Curare, a South American muscle relaxant having also a Rohypnol effect. What a happy ending to the movie version! The psycho doc, after bumping off some patients with a drug, holds a teenage runaway (played by Kelly) hostage for a Curare laced tryst between she, he and the wife's corpse (played prolifically by Joyce Kuhnen). "The Necrotic" garnered a cult following on late night New York cable TV, played several weekend eves, a la "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" of public access channel D. Screenplay: Michelle Harmon, Louis Ferriol. Musical Score: Eddie Casanovas and Peter Fragos. Thematic song "Look At Me Now" sung by Carol Maniero. Producer/Director Louis Ferriol.
