About The Christy Shows
In the summer of 1979, young singer/guitarist/songwriter from Linden, New Jersey,Christy English appeared as a guest on a short lived New York public access cable talent show. The response to Christy's appearance at the cable companies and producer's phone lines was so enthusiastic, that she was given her own show (which replaced the cancelled talent show). Christy's Rendevouz was syndicated in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California cablecast markets. The show became known as Christy and featured Christy English and singing sidekick Bob Russo (who also became production manager)/ Christy and Bob, separately and together as a duo, performed the top hits of the day and presented a new rock band each week. It got to the point where so many bands vied to be on the show (agents buzzing abound), each one connected with the show thought the other booked a band until they could not easily figure out with so many bookings who booked whom. Even major label record producer David Geffen sent in the bands and still today rocking metal groups such as The Catholic Girls and The Tom Cats made their first television appearance. But make no mistake about it, Christy's charisma andrms and sweet sounding singing voice (not to mention her Grecian beauty) drew viewers every week during her show's run on the CICT cable syndie network from 1979 to 1982.

About Christy English Born 1954, an only child to Greek working parents, Christy English (her stage name) knew at an early age she wanted to sing and perform. As a little girl growing up in Northern New Jersey, she would put on shows for her family. After guesting on a not too successful NY-NK syndicated cable TV show, even with the cable TV just a fledgling medium, she received such a response that she was given a show in the stead of the cancelled weekly series and it became a success both in New York City, LA and Jersey. The show ran 1979 to 1982, quite a run for local origination syndicated CATV. (0riginally syndicated as Christy's Rendevouz, then, Christy).
Christy was featured in two movies, The Satan Syndrome with Dick Biel, 1980 and Silver Beach with Kathy Cronkite, 1982
Subsequently, with musical partner Bobby Russo, who was also production manager for her TV show, Christy did night club gigs. However, she and Bobby parted and Christy endured a bad marriage and abuse. She drove a truck and her MySpace page, her screen name Katwoman, has become popular for it's dedication to truckers who move America and The World...and there's also Christy's videos, "Stupid Trucker Tricks" being the biggest attraction; Christy shoots, edits and posts her videos. Also on her MySpace site are in depth interviews with lady truckers. Meanwhile, finding her own cable syndicator, Carlson International, on the web, she workedn along with the CI web techs to get ten of her VHS archived cable shows streamed on the web through Google Video and presented also here at CI's Christy-TV Video Rendevouz at christystv.com or the main Xoteria-TV video server xoteria.com (please note the Uvisiontv.com and questarmedia.com are no longer functional or operated by Carlson International).
So, is a Christy revival show on tap? Well, if they can revive Doo Wops and Dragnet, you just never know what's up the road. Meanwhile, enjoy the digitally reprocessed cable shows that were a favorite on the cable TV dial.
